I initiated this writing exercise on the bus ride back from The Blue Mountain Resort to the airport. A group of us from Liberation Yoga spent a week at a retreat in the cloud forest of southern Costa Rica in March 2007… I started it off and then passed my journal around and each person wrote one line, forming a collaborative group poem of our reflections at the end of the trip:
The shining, swirling sun sets by the shore
The waves rolled and the light played in the rolling foam
Beach bums with bananas and monkeys paw prints
Tayes paw prints were so big and playful
With tears of joy we continue dancing through the night
La amistad es un regalo de Dios y hay que transmitirla con mucha alegria
All the words encapsulate how we feel after this incredible week— we have related, reconnected, recharged, and rediscovered the sacred space inside a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual spring cleaning
Yoga is union and union is communion, the sense of being one, of sameness, without homogeneity, without loss of self— one is the other, is the one is all
Like the talking wind that carries the song of revolution into the hearts of my friends
Are the tears of blood rung from my intestines
Have had a wonderful time
The Jardin Sin Tiempo included small dwarfs who worked all day and night to keep the gentle giants happy and fed, while the white angels
The day before our last, we practiced Qi Gong, the teacher more like an angel than a human being
A metamorphosis is the chrysalis transformed, new wet wings emerge golden and strong, gasp and arch up over the misty landscape
These individuals are such visionaries, strong in creature energy with soft, gentle hearts
Hearts of joy dancing in Blue Mountain on a misty afternoon while eating a mango; even when it wasn’t quite ripe, it tasted sweet to me, because it was cut with love
Liberation = freedom, release, salvation, independence, rescue, emancipation, equality
Liberation Yoga is dedicated to promoting health, peace and freedom in the community and on the planet
